Delete your Sermony account and associated data

This page describes account deletion for the Sermony app on Android and iOS and for access in the browser. An account belongs to the server you signed in to.
Status: The app has not been released yet. The deletion path described here will be tested on both operating systems before release.
Deletion in Sermony
- Open Profile → Security in the app or in the browser of your Sermony instance.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm your identity again and enter the email address of your account.
- Confirm the deletion request.
Access is blocked immediately, active sign-ins are ended and the account's push subscriptions are removed. Final account deletion takes place after your server's waiting period (software default: 30 days). If you are the last administrator, you must first appoint another person for this role or ask the operator to wind up the instance.
Request deletion without the app
Your account is held by your congregation's server — address your deletion request to its operator. You can find their contact details in the instance's privacy or provider information; in the app they are linked under "This server".
If you do not know whom to contact, the contact form or [email protected] can help. Both are available without signing in and without the app installed. However, we cannot delete accounts on third-party servers ourselves.
Please include in your message:
- the address of the server where the account exists,
- the email address of that account,
- that you want the account and the associated personal data to be deleted.
We need to verify that you are entitled to make the request. Please do not send a copy of your ID or a password at this stage.
Signing in to your server in the browser also gives you access to the deletion path described above.
Which data is affected
Account deletion covers the account record and the personal settings, sign-ins and playback progress linked to it. Congregation content such as published sermons is not deleted wholesale as a result. If such content contains personal information, your voice or your image, name it in your request so it can be reviewed separately.
Error reports, administration logs and backups may still contain information about you for some time; the periods for this are set by the operator of your server. Any retained data must still have a specific purpose and legal basis.
You can remove downloaded files in the app. Removing the app does not replace the deletion request for your account.
